I'm really trying not to spoil this for anyone.

I did a search over Escapist forums with the names of the potential candidates and didn't find any, so I'm guessing we didn't have a poll like this before. (I'm thinking this will be an interesting poll because I assume candidate 1 the most often choice, but I've really nothing to back this up with, so maybe this poll will pull a surprise upset. Of course, the overall ratio will be interesting to look at as well.)

I left candidate 1, so I suppose they won't be back.

Couldn't leave candidate 1 any faster. Least favorite backstory by far,

I left Candidate 1, they sounded more "ready" to die and I thought leaving Candidate 2 to be slaughtered felt a lot worse. At least Candidate 1 went out in a big explosion.

I saved and killed them both through 2 playthroughs so I guess I'll get 2 half man half cyborg creatures...

Candidate #2. #2 Tried to get rid of Wrex, and sure didn't get along with Garrus. Besides, Wrex fought just as well anyways, and I didn't need anymore combat backup.

Uh... last I checked, they were dying next to the origin of said explosion.

I left #1, mostly because I didn't need his class at any point.

I did the same. His story was the only one that I really couldn't stand to sit through.

I hated Ashley Williams, she pissed me off so much, when I started a new character I had attempted several times to make her leave. When she was seemingly fated to follow me for that first level, I shot at her every time she said something.

I never used her again and only talked to her for the purpose of gaining renegade points. (Or to hear Shepherd tell her she fails.)

My decision was almost purely military. I sent "that guy" to command "those aliens" in "that assault" that went "poorly". Meanwhile, "that girl" was arming a bomb and covering the LZ. Not only did I find "that guy" useless and depressing, but I had a nuclear bomb to arm and a planet to flee so I chose to return to the LZ. Sometimes in war you have to know when to cut your losses and retreat.

"That guy" is a douche. If there's anything that annoys me most, it's his hair. I swear he puts omni-gel in it... and is it me or does he look like Uncle Jesse from Full House?

In these cases, think in terms of which saved game you're likely continue first in Mass Effect 2

Now that you mention it, I wouldn't be surprised. It would, at least, justify doing a lot of voice recording work for both characters. I wonder if this means the one you left behind is going to be a bit bitter you forgot they existed for the rest of the game.

The major thing that got me at the end is didn't have any kind of a relationship with the Dr. T'soni... At all.

I can't remember at this moment, as I used multiple playthroughs, and thus, left behind one character in one save, and another in the other save... though, my first choice was Candidate 1.

Yeah, and he butchers Carth's voice. I never even liked Carth that much, but he's way better than "That guy"

I couldn't stand Candidate #2. Every time she'd have some comment on how aliens are annoying ugly horrible creatures and how God must've created the entire universe except them.
I hope she met that God and asked Him why Turians are so ugly.

I always left Candidate 1, as I connected more with Candidate 2. Also, you forgot someone aswell.

I let "her" die. I didn't use either of them so I put them in the positions that I felt they would do best in and played it out the way I saw fit.

P.S. I saved wrex cause he "wrecks" things (lolololol (I gotta put that in the worst pun thread))

That would be tough. Either way Candidate two and the aforementioned forgotten one shall be joining me in Mass Effect 2.

It changes every time I play through, depending on how much they both piss me off and whether or not I'm going for a romance plot completion.

The guy had zero personality and actually seemed to want to die, so I let him. Sadly, I now tire of the other one tediously quoting poetry at me, and am hoping there is an option to let her die in the next one.

I have two characters, and I left a different one each playthrough.

Kaiden was a much more likable character, he knew his place.
Ashley = ugly big nosed racist bitch. She always back chatted too that reli got on my nerves, im the captain.

Candidate 1
Nothing against him, but Ashley was funnier.

When I started the game I had thought candidate 1 practically had a bullseye painted on him. But he didn't die fast enough when the time came I left him and never looked back.
