Kojima himself is moving in a new direction and is working on two new IPs, which he says will appeal more to western audiences (which I pray will not be a generic FPS...ugh). The actual IP, the game is most likely to center on Raiden again after he went insane and started working for Big Mama. | |

My favourite character in the MGS franchise is the Boss from MGS3. So I'd love a game about her but seeing as the Shagohod was the first metal gear, it's unlikely for a MGS game to be set pre-MGS3. | |

True, but if they did do a pre-MGS3 game it could be set in WW2 as The Boss and the rest of the Cobra Unit, a hybrid of MGO, MGS4 gameplay and MGS Portable Ops (the recruitment of soldiers intregal to your squad on occasion). | |

I think they've pretty much wrapped up the storyline. This is the problem with story based games. When the story ends, it's pretty much time to call it for the series. That said, since they will be bringing it back, I guess I'd hope for either another prequel or a 3D remake of the original Metal Gears. - J | |

Unlesss the (hypothetical) new Metal Gear titles take place a long time after the Solid series, or take place as though the Solid story never happened, then I'd say the Metal Gear series needs to stop at MGS4. | |

Well, it SHOULD end with 4, but let's be realistic. I expect one of two things: (a) the storyline shifts to Meryl. Don't ask me why or how, I just think it would work. (b) it's revealed that there was yet another clone of Big Boss, who just happens to look identical to Solid Snake. Don't tell me Konami wouldn't try this; you know they would. | |

Into the air! "Metal Gear: Snake on a Plane" ...sorry. For all of the jokes I make about the awful storytelling, I really liked the Metal Gear series. That's why I'm hoping they just let it end instead of dragging it out in sequel after sequel. The next game would need fresh characters anyway (the old ones are either dead or have enough closure that we can ignore them), why not take the opportunity to make an entirely new series? If Hideo Kojima is on board, I'm sure Metal Gear fans will give a new game a chance. By the way, by a new series I don't mean a new series within the Metal Gear universe. I'd prefer an entirely new universe with new characters, new themes, new concepts, and not a nanomachine in sight. | |

Following the epic ending to the tale of the Snakes in mGS4 only one nagging question remains Where to now? Will the series end and never again be touched? or will Kojima pull a magical and shiny new tale of tactic and military conspiracy right out of his ass? What do you think? I personally I don't know.
