I can see my playing it though. User was banned for: Poll: Round 5 - Field of Four - (1) Turbine vs (1) Nintendo. (Permanent) |

I can't remember the name of it (considering there are 100 Lord of the Rings games) but it was you taking the role of elf, dwarf, or human, and dispatching waves of enemies with over the top melee moves. PS - I enjoyed it. and that^ |

Yeah if I was heading up the design team I would make sure countless days would be dedicated to sitting around a table throwing out ideas like, "We should have a gun that shoots a chain of exploding razor bugs". Without a massive, MASSIVE variety of weapons it would be no fun. |

I've played those games and they are a blast...but they have a plot (sort of) and they end. Also there aren't that many weapons. Those games are still awesome but they aren't quite the killfest I'm thinking of. |

Muckraker Posts: 335 Joined: 17 Jul 2008 | Meh, it would be fun for a while, but eventually it would run out. Something like Saints Row 2, extremely fun doing missions and random stuff, but after a while when you finish it it is just meh. |

Guns will definitely make it better, like Lady Butterfly´s Gatling gun in Devil kings. |
Press Junketeer Posts: 422 Joined: 27 Sep 2008 | Here's an idea: let's all think of insanely awesome weapons for this gem of a game idea. Note: Discussing ideas for a game are nice but discussing awesome ways to murder tons of dudes is, while psychiatrist-bait, much more fun. I would make a gun that launches 12-year-old XBoxLive players and watch as every person in a 10 foot radius rips their ears out. And I'm being serious. Honest. |

That sounds.....pretty sweet. Like I already posted above I think a weapon that shoots a chain of exploding razor bugs would be awesome. Also a gun that rips out each individual molecule of an enemy and rips each one in half. |
Copy Clerk Posts: 113 Joined: 10 Aug 2008 | PumpItUp I like your thinking. I would like to see a gun that turns enemies into Cheez-It's. Or just cheese. ALSO! Another gun that shoots out staples attached to retail prices. The price on it would be death of course. If anyone else has no idea what I'm talking about or what I just said, neither do I. |

Paperboy Posts: 28 Joined: 9 Jan 2009 | This idea was awesome enough to make me finally get around to registering. It sounds great, but I was thinking it would be even better if it included some tower-defense-esque elements, such as the enemies gradually becoming stronger, your arsenal gradually becoming larger and more awesome, etc. Actually, I think I'd really like it if it was some sort of era-progressing game; you start with stone-age weapons and enemies, and it gradually crawls forward in time, giving you better and better weapons to combat the improving enemies. It's not a story, but it would still keep things interesting through change. Maybe, for example, you start in a cave with a sharp rock, you fight your way to the mouth of the cave, you find a knife or a slingshot, the enemies change slightly, repeat ad infinitum. The enemies would always funnel you towards the next weapon. The collection of said weapon might unlock the option to start a new game from that point, or with that weapon at an earlier point, or with an earlier weapon at that point. Multiplayer would just be the ability to jump seamlessly in and out of a friend's game and fight together or compete to kill the most enemies. Sorry if that was a little incoherent... |

For infinite weapons check out the vid of Borderlands, they have a system that spawns loads of variations of weapons, I think 100,000 or more altogether. EDIT: Actually 500,000 variations. There was one revolver, sniper-rifle that shot electric bullets. It was awesome! I'll try to find the vid, watch this space. http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/53723 Top video, watch from 1:30. Video is pretty dark but the game looks great IMO. |

That's pretty much what I was thinking, but I felt it needed a little more explanation. Looks like you understand it well enough; I was worried the big block of text was a bit much. |

Shoots a low velocity round of aggressive fat and an enemy which after a moment causes the enemy to gain more weight then 1000 consecutive MacDonalds visits in one day. Pulitzer Laureate Posts: 857 Joined: 24 Mar 2008 | Your game exists in many forms: Online competitive shooters are just that MMO's really just amount to going around and killing infinite respawns Dynasty Warriors and other mashers like 99 Nights. Because it's such a simple mod, almost every mod community has a version of that concept for whatever engine they use... It's fun enough, but gets boring pretty quickly, making it interesting for ongoing play is a challenge. I can think of at least one soon to be released title that is built for that and is hella-fun, you don't get to customize your weapons though. |

Earlier today I was just lounging around, bored out of my skull, when I thought of an idea for a game. All it would be is you and endlessly respawning enemies. No story, no objectives, no nothing....just killing stuff. Without having to spend time on the story and what not, you could spend time making a butt-ton of weapons and an even bigger butt-ton of enemies.
Now I love a game with a masterful plot and story but I think a game like this would be an awesome stress-reliever and just good plain fun. There are probably games out there that are pretty much just killing stuff, but chances are they have a plot of some sort and limitations on weapons. The game I'm thinking of would make mindless killing into an art form.
So...would you enjoy a game like that?
