I'd love to put Bioshock down, but I haven't had a chance to play it yet. EDIT: Viva Pinata, filled with fun, da da da da daa... |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 4361 Joined: 8 Jan 2009 | Is Fallout better on PC or 360? I've been hearing mixed stories of one being buggier than the other. I think I'm already picking up Bioshock for PS3. |

Except Lost Odyssey, I completely agree. Don't forget Left 4 Dead. |

All you'll ever need. Shake it, shake it, shake it! Like a party animal! Bioshock, Fable2, Oblivion Game of the Year Edition, Crackdown and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare would be my recommendations. |

Haha I'm a sucker for that game, I'm sorry! XD |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1331 Joined: 22 Oct 2008 | It really depends on what kind of game you want to play. FPS wise I'd suggest Halo, COD4, or L4D. Each is it's own style of FPS play, L4D's being the most unique. Other shooters would include Gears 2, Bioshock, Fallout, the Orange Box, Lost Planet, or even W@W. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 4361 Joined: 8 Jan 2009 | I have Orange Box on my Mac already (don't ask) so I'm good there. I would honestly rather get L4D on PC. I think I'll look into Gears, however reports from all over are saying the matchmaking is really bad. First Viva Pinata or second? |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1910 Joined: 20 Jul 2008 | The matchmaking on GoW2 is absolutely terrible, but I played the entire campaign co-op with a friend and LOVED it. We play horde now, and will continue to once his xbox comes back since it red ringed. I'd pick up Mass Effect, Saints Row 2, Ummm....nothing else is really coming to mind right now, I'll post more if I remember. Edit: Oh, Mirror's Edge and Rock Band 2 and wwell...I mean they're multiplatform but something about achievements that make me buy those games on the Xbox rather than my PS3. |

You can get trophies for Mirror's Edge on the PS3. I don't have Rock Band 2 so I can't say something about that. Or maybe I missunderstood your post and you meant that you just like achievments more. |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 4950 Joined: 10 Jan 2009 | Fallout 3: The PC version barely froze up on me, and I played that thing CONSTANTLY, 90 hours plus, so I don't think it was too bad. You can still get the achievements for 360, and you can have mods and even enter cheats (if thats your sort of thing.) All in all, it's a larger amount of stuff for the same price, so as long as your machine is man enough (this game is a beast, albiet nothing like what Crysis was on my rig), I say go for it! Only for fans of Oblivion-esque gameplay, although many elements have been improved. It strikes me more as a refinement of Oblivion than anything else, but it's still a nice game. Hmmm....a lot of my faves were already posted. Mass Effect is supposed but be better on PC due to the fact that they streamlined that awful inventory system (the one thing that stunk about that game.) I'd probably get it for 360 anyways, just because of the "no achievments on the pc version" thing, but do yourself a favor and do not get the DLC. It's a waste. Gears 2 is worth it if you thought Gears was ok. Gears 2 has loads of improvements, not only new weapons and junk to use. My favorite is the filler bots they sub in until players join the game. They're not BRILLIANT, but they do the job for average folks. Oh, and the plot ain't half bad, for a second installment in a trilogy. Horde is also well worth it with friends. Lost Planet is an OK pick... but there's better fish to fry, especially if you don't like to game for long sessions. It takes a LOT of time invested into this game to beat it, simply due to the fact that it's not easy and somewhat exploration-based in it's nature. FEAR is...interesting. Get it if you feel the need for some horror-shooty action, but the achievements are damn hard and the gameplay is no chump either. Good for the experienced 1st person player though. I thought Prey was fun, I'd recommend playing a demo first though to see if you like it. Everything about it was fun in some strange way, although you do have to be a bit forgiving about certain parts. I would've appreciated some better weaponry in particular. BIOSHOCK... it's just a must have. Any minor flaws you might find are offset by the fact that you have to be incredibly picky to find them. Rock Band 2 over Guitar Hero, if only because the difficulty is still scaled better, and you have access to all the previous songs in the series. I'll add on my thoughts as they stir up. My first post, and already this much writing... I'm sure that this will be fun. |

Replace Lost oddyssey with Orange Box and you have exactly the same list as me, although maybe not in that order...fallout is king of my collection at the mo! |

Yeah, I just like Achievements more. Its because I've had my 360 far longer then I've had my PS3 =P I got most of the trophies for Uncharted but was saddened when I realized that just about every other game I had had no trophies. I was a sad panda that day. Q_Q |

Really? Because I tried about a week ago and it was still terrible. I'll take your word for it though, I've been really itchin' to play online, but when it takes an hour to get on I can't help but just swap games and play something else. |

Well, both have DLC, but the PC version has the G.E.C.K. exclusively. As for bugs, I haven't played the console version for comparison, but the PC version is somewhat rife with clipping issues. Ignorable generally, until the dude that has that thing you need gets exploded through the floor and you can't loot his corpse, it kinda sucks. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1341 Joined: 19 Jun 2008 | Bioshock or Mass Effect comes to mind. Neither are exclusive, but that doesn't mean they're aren't excellent games. |
Pulitzer Laureate Posts: 946 Joined: 7 Aug 2008 | I gotta recommend Oblivion, I like Fallout and think its cooler then Oblivion, but overall I think Oblivion is the better game. Sure you can't nuke towns or saw off peoples heads but I found myself being bored sometimes when wandering threw a tunnel network, and I never really found that to happen with Oblivion. Both are for sure worth playing but everyone recommended Fallout so I gotta give Oblivion some love. |

I was wondering what you guys considered to be the best games on the 360 (doesn't matter the genre). I just got one over Christmas and was wondering what game to buy. Just please no Halo, I was never a really big fan. Thanks!
