Hello,
This has probably been done many times before, but who is your favorite software developer? I know that my list is not complete, so if you have someone not on the list post it. My favorite developers are Valve and Bioware.

Bethesda....I loved my Daggerfall lots.

For me, it's a tossup between Valve and Bungie. I love Valve's devotion to it's fanbase, and Bungie has always been great about bonus content and the like.

Nintendo easily for me (pre-Wii eras), seeing as its what i grew up with and what i love most about gaming.

For me it's a tossup between Valve and Ubisoft. Both have series I love.

P.S. I voted for valve

I'd have to go with Valve. I have yet to be disappointed with anything they've done. Epic would probably be second, although that's mostly nostalgia.

Bethesda. I like Valve as a company, but I like Bethesda as a developer.

seriously wheres blizzard, I don't care about WoW but the diablo, warcraft(RTS) and starcraft franchises are some of the best in the world.

But a close second for me(also not on the list) is Namco, for Pac-man, Galaxia, and my all time favorite game tales of Symphonia. Also when they became Namco-Bandai for the Soul Caliber series.

Yeah this isn't really one of those topics that needs to be a poll, since there's a million different developers. Although, with that said, Valve did get my vote.

Origin, Bullfrog, Westwood... all former EA city-states. Not that they make games anymore, and a large part of the reason is that EA ran them into the ground. Still, since it's the only option that sort of encompasses those companies... I might as well vote for it. You'll all know the one voter for that option had a good reason, at least.

Besides, EA put out Fight Night, so I wouldn't really mind voting for them, anyhow.

Valve without even trying. I do love my Steam.

Unnecessary and limited polls make the baby Jesus cry. Where's Paradox Interactive? How about the Creative Assembly? I refuse to answer the poll when Bethesda (my favorite on that particular list) comes out no better than third.

This gets me. Why would you even make a poll knowing that it wouldn't be complete and that there is a very likely possibility that people would have responses that don't correspond to the options you've put down.

My number one criticism for including polls with questions like that. The list is fairly random to top it off, it's not the largest 8 developers, its not the most successful 8 developers, nor is it the 8 developers with the most games on the market (No Blizzard, No Sega, etc.)

Given that Blizzard developed one of the most played and purchased games in history, it should be on the list, and Radical is a developer releasing one of the most anticipated games for 2009, it should be on the list. and the cavalier attitude towards EA (i.e. not really considering the EA development brand) should take BioWare (rightfully known as BioWare EA) off the list.

But now I'm being glib. Point being: no polls to open ended questions like this.

Does Nintendo qualify as a developer?
In any case, though the poll is redundant as outlined by mark_n_b, I'm gonna go for Intelligent Systems, HAL, Retro Studios, EAD (all first- or second-party Nintendo devs), who I guess could all be lumped under "Nintendo".
Other than those, Bioware and Blizzard are the two big ones for me. Oh, and SquareEnix.

I choose Ubisoft, due to my intense love of rayman on the 64. surprised there's no Square Enix option though.

Valve is probably my favorite, but Troika is a close second.

Used to be an EA city; they picked them up for Stranger's Wrath, but Oddworld do their own stuff now. Movies. And the games that go with them.

well, to be fair, you can count how many non-mod games they've made on your fingers.

Insomniac, Valve, and Bethesda. Makers of Fine Electronic Entertainment.

Relic and Valve. Relic have made some of the best RTS games around.
