PC of course (if it counts) as the world revolves around computers.

Second would be the Wii or PS3 because of immense backwards compatability.

Then 360.

Gotta go with the PS2. Huge library, and the broadest range of games. Everyone who games can find at least one PS2 title that they'll love.

PC. With the right modifications it can play XBox 360 and Ps3 games, so technically I'd be saving all the games ever put on torrent, all DVD's, all music and all programs... seems a bit of a no-brainer really

This is a thoroughly retarded question akin to "What games would you want to have with you if you were stranded on a desert island?" And if you were stranded on a desert island, why would you want games with you? You can't plug them in and they aren't going to help you avoid starvation or with your endless quest to leave the bedamned place.

Basically what this question is asking is, what kind of fanboy are you? A situation is not going to occur where you could save only one of the many gaming consoles ever created from genocide, so this is just a poorly disguised attempt at discerning fanboyism and the subsequent muckraking that inevitably follows.

Seriously? Why not just be direct and say what's your favorite console? Or what are your top 5 games? Why does everyone relate your game selection with how you'll deal with a worst case sceanrio? Because if something like that ever occured I can absolutely assure you that the last thing on my mind would be video games.

Either my PS3 or PS2, since they're the ones I've spent the most money on

the_tramp:
If I saved a console that had backwards compatibility then would the older games be saved too? If that is the case then PC by miles, emulation!

Now that is cheating a bit

Easy the the PS 360 (has all the games on both consoles) because when I show people how awesome it is they want to restart gamoing and that means I'll have some people to play with and might get some new games.

PCs(only because they are useful for a lot of stuff, not just games). If they don't count, the SNES back in the day. If it's only today's systems then the PS3... I guess.

Of course I could save the Virtual Boy and all 12 games for it...

PS3 if you count the backwards compatibility, too many fun filled hours in Resistance 2, Warhawk, MGS4, LBP, DMC4 and the great ps1 and ps2 games, like final fantasies, MGS's, Ratchet and Clanks, Jak's and my list can go on and on.

IF backwards compatibility isn't allowed I'd have to say PC as well, emulators can bring every console back, not mentioning the great PC exclusive games out there.

PC or 360. I don't care about all the people who talk about how awesome the NES and PSone are, the 360 is new, it's got fun games, and that's all I need. Yes, there are some good games on those systems but would you really play Super Mario Bros over roughly anything on the 360? They're just old consoles, and there's nothing special about it.

Emulators

The Adventure Continues...

We now find our commander, Sir Iebem, stuck in a raging battle with his old friend, Alen-Warerior.

"How could you Alen! We were supposed to help fight the aliens together and let everyone enjoy the consoles and computers again!"

"Ah, tsk tsk Iebem. You don't realize the power that they hold. They can create resolutions 10x more intense than 1080p with minimal effort required. You on the other hand can barely muster up 720i."

"It's not the resolution that matters, it's what you've got inside that counts! I know for a fact that your graphics card is a pathetic piece of junk."

"*gasp*! You swore to never speak of that again!"

"And you swore to stay by my side, what happend to that?"

"Engage!"

*clang* *smack* *stab*

meanwhile...

"Dreamcast! Iebem is being attacked! We must hurry!"

"Grab Playstation the Second, we need a good marksman to incapacitate Alen-Ware!"

"Should Snessy take command for now?"

"No, Ninny the 64th must take over. Onwards!"

to be continued?

PS1 I believe it had the largest number of games produced for it.

I'd keep my 360(unless PC is a choice), I have the largest amount of games for it.

Wouldn't be the 360 as i only use that for live and nobody would have one so that rules that out.

So id say a toss up between PS3 (just so i can play MGS4 and little big planet) or N64 which was truely just a great console.

Well technically a pc isnt a console is it?
but yeah a pc does hav all the emulators from nearly all consoles, bar the next-gen ones
but a console to save would be the 360 as it has got the biggest selection of decent games

Goldeneye103X2:

Enigmers:
PS3, 80gig version (i need my backwards compatibility, I love PS2 games, and PS1 games are fine too)

Wait.... PS3 80gig can play ps1 and 2 games?

Well, judging from my 80gig it can play PS1 games real good and play PS2 games real slowly. Pretty much like the PS2's PS1-emulation.

That, coupled with the fact that there are only a small handful of PS3 games I actually play, is the reason I'd choose last generation's playstation. Having gamed since the mid-80's, graphics is NOT what I value the most in a game:)

PS2, obviously. Great lineup that spans all (or nearly all) genres.

I would without a doubt save the Xbox 360. Mainly because i am extremely biased and have only really played the 360 and have nothing else to go by.

Wii in order to save all the old classics, but in all honesty the PS3, simply because we could build off it and it's a dvd player as well. So that way movies are saved and we can make even more advanced consoles from it! Now if only it had some more killer exclusives...

PC of course. It has games and porn, and games that are porn. Did I mention porn?

With all seriousness though - it depends if I get the full library of games which can be played on it (this gen and previous). If answer is "Yes" than PS3 for the PS2 and PS1 games, and few PS3 games. if answer is "No" than PC for emulators ;)

PC...

for one reason...not only does it have it's own games but for emulation.

Even if all consoles were destroyed I would still have:

Atari 2600
Commodore 64
Nintendo Entertainment System
Sega Master System
Super Nintendo Entertainment System
Dos
Sega Genesis/32X/SegaCD
Game Boy Advance
MAME
Commodore Amiga
Nintendo 64
Sega Dreamcast

I'm not worried about PS3 or 360 because the majority of their good games are released in higher quality on the PC. I wouldn't shed a tear for either of the other Playstation consoles, XBOX I would kind of miss becuase of Project Gotham Racing Series (but at least I have GRID) GameCube is small enough for me to hoop one system with a copy of Wind Waker, Rogue Leader and Eternal Darkness...eww did i just type that out loud?
