Metroid Prime 3 used the Wii remote... I'm not sure if there can be a better aiming system.

and yes i forgot about unreal tournement, although 3 was a big let down

I've got to say half life after all it did give me portal.

There's at least one awesome game I can think of for most of these series but I gotta go with Halo overall. First FPS series I ever got into.

I'm a personal fan of Battlefield, but I think CoD4 and WaW put that series pretty high up on the list.

Not Half-life, because it's too easy to get lost, the puzzles are frustrating, and it's not that satisfying shooting the weapons in that game.

Not Doom. Lacks storyline / emotions.

Not Halo. No mouse. Horrible vehicle controls. Too long.

Not Quake / Unreal tournament. (Though you should add them to the poll). Because they feel more like tech demonstrations of their respective graphics engines rather than full out games.

Not Medal of Honour. (Again, need to add it to poll). Because it's "too gamey".

So, Call of duty, by process of Elimination.

*edit: I would say Portal, but that's not really a FPS, more of a puzzle game. BTW, I think Valve should ditch guns all together, and add more content to it, that would make the Half life series better.

Quake? Unreal Tournament? This list is fail.

as a series COD, It only got better in time. That is a good series. Halo stayed the same which is why I didnt vote for them.

Anyway, I think I'd probley have to go with Half-Life 2, Episode 2 especially. Halo CE and Halo 3 were both great games, and CoD4 was fantastic, but HL2 is not only a great FPS, but one with a wonderfully well told story, that always leaves you guessing. There have been very few games where I am looking forward to the next one because I want to know what happens next more than the gameplay.

Am I being stupid, or is there only one Duke Nukem FPS? I really liked the games but the first two were platformers.

I vote COD.

I voted half-life mainly because hl2 was so incredible but I think halo is a close second because even though no halo is as good as HL2 imo it has maintained the highest level of quality throughout the series. feel free to disagree

i have to vote doom becuz its really one of the starters for all the other FPS games. that and duke nukem( its time to kick ass and chew bubble gum, and im all out of gum) thats my favorite line
