Ok I'm gonna start this off with a cleverly placed disclaimer; I checked the search engine for this type of thread but didn't find any.

Anyway I was just thinking about how sometimes I get so wrapped up in a game I don't eat or sleep the entire weekend. This naturaly led me to the conclusion "Damn it! I'm so obsessive". But also I was curious what games (if any) makes all of you stay up when you should sleep, or skip meals?

Legend of Zelda usually gets me, some JRPGs as well.

I started a thread a while ago along a similar theme: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.60909?page=1 Bit of a shameless bump there :o

I'd say most recently would probably be Fallout 3.

Definately Last Remnant, haven't slept much playing that, same with Fallout 3 and NFS: Undercover.

Team Fortress 2 is a killer, but what's worse for me are the even smaller games where you always want to play one more game. Just one more. Then another and another...

These would be Geometry Wars and Galcon.

Oh, I'm sorry I didn't see it when I searched :(

I distinctly remember staying up well past midnight one December night many years ago with my younger sister in an effort to finish Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers: The Movie on the SNES once and for all. It was awesome.

These days, it's usually either Super Smash Bros. or Halo that keep me up.

Freelancer did it the worst to me actually. Plenty of games have had me staying up past the time I ought to be heading to bed though, recently it was Deadspace, Fable 2 and Fallout 3. I reactivated my Warhammer Account and played as the empire tank over the weekend and I was up until the wee hours of the morning but that really isn't anything to laud Warhammer for as I almost always have terrible sleeping habits on weekends.

Big games get me, I get so immersed I don't realize I haven't eaten for 10 hours until my hand start shaking exsessivly.

Agreed. Last night, I wouldn't let myself go to sleep until I found Evergreen Mills and the Terrible Shotgun in Fallout, not that I was really forcing myself. L4D's a killer too.

Red Orchestra, Soldiers: Heroes of WWII and any of the Blitzkrieg engine games I have. They're the biggest culprits for me losing sleep, even after I've stopped and decided to go to bed.

TF2, CSS, CoD4 and WoW.

I've stopped playing all of those, but I'm going to renew my WoW subscription now that I know how to limit myself.(I used to be obsessed, but I stopped caring what happens in games)

I'm just glad to see I'm not alone.

At the moment, I'm playing "The World Ends With You" at 4 in the morning which keeps me up most the night, But mos other times I tend to just play whatever DS game is in the cartridge slot when I turn it on till the wee hours

I think I should be glad MMO's weren't really all that popular when I had gobs of free time to play them or I'd probably be a shallow wreck of a person. Tribes launched the summer before I was old enough to work and I spent 10 hours a day playing that game. That being said, it might be that some of the early offerings tainted my perception of the genre as a whole. I first played Anarchy Online and I've never had a more frustrating game experience, since I would encounter a multitude of terrible bugs on every play session.

This. For me at the moment its the latest advance wars, though I've been known not to sleep for 24 hours just because of the game Elite Beat Agents. Darn its addictive.

I've been losing sleep over Team Fortress 2 and Tales of Vesperia.

Now Chrono Trigger is going to add to my insomniac tendencies.

Zombie Panic: Source. I always think to myself "just one more round" 6 rounds later, I'm not in bed yet.

I lost a lot of sleep in the summer for Lost Odyssey. To a lesser extent, GTAIV had me up late towards the end (7am :P)

I didn't see it mentioned, and I've lost more sleep than I care to remember from this game:

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
