Pardon? | |
I think that they are making The Elder Scrolls five next.
Oh yes elder scrolls five would be awesome :D.
The Elder Scrolls V would be the next logical game.
Well, they're doing a couple of official modpacks for Fallout 3 (Operation Anchorage and a couple of others,) and then they're most likely going to the next Elder Scrolls game.
I think I get the jist of what you're trying to say. That second to last sentence was....odd. I would like them to make The Elder Scrolls 5 next. Fallout was great but it would be nice if they started switching back and forth. Elder scrolls 5, Fallout 4, Elder scrolls 6, and so on. Or maybe just start a new series entirely. But definitely Elder Scrolls 5 for now. There was a thread on here a while ago that talked about everything people want to see in Scrolls 5. If all that stuff was in there....best game ever.
I would like something NOT running on the Oblivion engine.
I want to go out on a limb here, and put forth an idea, They made Oblivion; A medieval type fantasy game. They put Fallout 3 in the near future, with a slight post apocolyptic theme. But I wanna see TES:V set somewhere in the Ancient Roman times. Not too ancient, but set somewhere then. Mainly for the gladiator fights against lions. And I personally can't remember any RPG's on the scale of Oblivion/Fallout 3 set then.
The Eye of Argonia! | |
elder scrolls V preferably with a more heavily modified game engine, or at least with similarities to oblivion's reduced to about 10% (fallout 3 was about half).
They will make another open world game. People will compare it to oblivion and Fallout 3 and call it uncreative because it uses the same engine. There will probably be a lot of open countryside that people will criticize for sameness when the develops were just unwilling to put a few hundred hours into making every view unique. There will probably be guns. The story idea will be new but will borrow from a previously used archetype, sci-fi, fantasy, etc. You can imagine what the game will be like even if it is unknown what the storyline will be.
Can't wait for the new Elder Scrolls games. Five bucks says it's gonna be on next gen systems though.
Yes I've heard elder scrolls V Also, let us fight some Akaviri and some Tsaeci (or whatever they are called) Bring back clothing over armor and customizable armor parts. i.e. left/right pauldrons and left/right gloves that are each customizable.
The last thing I heard about Bethesda when it came to TES was that an MMO was to be the next logical step, I disagree and think it should remain a single player RPG game. If they do wish to go on with either TES or the Fallout series I only ask that they do a complete redo of their engine. The upgrades to their Oblivion engine, that was used for Fallout 3, was the wrong choice for Fallout 3 in my eyes. Bethesda really needs to work on the npc to npc interactions and NPC to PC especially. The NPCS in FO3 are immersion breaking, especially when you're walking down a corridor, say in Rivet City and have a passing npc tell you off for looking in the general direction of a locked door. o.O
I heard - Fallout DLC parts one two and three, then elder scrolls 5, then fallout 4.
Last I saw (I think on Wikipedia) was they obtained the rights to the name Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
| |
God, I'd love another Elder Scroll's game. I have always secretly wished they would do another game set in Morrowind, this time with the entire province, not just Vvardenfell, Solstheim(sp?) and the capital. I would also like to see them bring back the best character in the series, Caius Cosades. Did he ever sort out his moon sugar problems?! Probably not. Other than that, the Summerset isles would be a logical choice, as its the only other island, and hence wouldnt have to rely on stupid invisible barriers. I'd like to see Skyrim or Elsweyr, but if they have to do one of the smaller provinces, I'd hope to see two of them instead of one. Cyrodil is huge compared to most of them, so I think even a Valenwood/Elsweyr wouldn't be out of the question. Two different elf provinces! That's alot of story to work with, I'd imagine.
I just hope it's not a steaming pile of shit.
That would be very cool. Hopefully they pack more to do into the smaller space, if thats how it ends up playing. And it would give them a perfect opportunity to re-do Solstheim if they wanted to, for DLC.
Honestly, I'm hoping that they do another Elder Scrolls game, but build a new engine for it and hire some competent writers.
Considering they're hiring scripters for an elder scrolls game AND a sequel to Fallout (which they will try to turn into a franchise, it basically says so on their homepage), I'd say that's it.
First off, it wouldn't be TES:V. They've already got a world for those games, which doesn't include ancient romans. Changing the setting for the fifth numbered game in when there's already at least 5-6 games in the series (yeah, game developers really can't count) would just be weird. You do have a point though, and a really open game set in the ancient roman times would be great, I just wish someone other than Bethesda made it. What I'd like to see is them taking a new approach. I don't care what game they release as long as they think "how can we make this game" instead of thinking "how can we use the tools we already have to make this game". If it turns out the answer to the first question is to use the tools they already have, then yes, go right ahead, it's going to be great. But Fallout should have been made in another engine better suited for it. They aren't the only developers doing this (valve comes to mind), but they are the ones who shove it in the customers face the most. What would really be neat to see is them trying something else, I know the whole world disagrees with me, but I don't think Bethesda has much to come with when it comes to open world games, they created a masterpiece with Daggerfall and an even bigger one with Morrowind. I'd love to see them try something else, maybe something like Redguard again, to give them a new perspective. They're stuck, they just do the same things over and over, and they're honestly not doing too good of a job. They need a new perspective, some new ideas, and they need to start over. Take what they've learned, but start anew so that they can remove all the old flaws they aren't thinking about and truly make something interesting. That's a lesson more than Bethesda could learn from though. Eh... Why am I writing this? No one's going to read these rants of mine anyway, and even if anyone did, they wouldn't be in a position to really be affected by them, or have an effect.
That would be an Elder Scrolls V, since they start the engine from scratch every time they make a new Elder Scrolls game.
Skyrim eh? That means a super Nord-heavy setting. Maybe we will get Werewolves back again. Like a upsized Solstheim. It also means it's going to be very cold, and snowy. And of course it will be filled with Wolves, goddam wolves.
Or maybe they will start to realize that the only way to make a ecologically balanced game would be to combine several countries to make one grand game of super awesomeness
They had that in the earlier games, like Arena. It sucked, because with such a huge area they couldn't put any detail in the individual places. In Morrowind they decided to focus on a smaller setting, and could thus make it so much more detailed, which is what made that game as good as it was.
My only requests for Bethesda is to do a reverse of what they're doing now. 1 )Make a whole new engine built to service the story and gameplay rather than a story constructed within the constraints of the engine. This I might be hard since they're so used to recycling. 2) Halve, yes halve the team involved in the graphics and hire more programmers and story writers. Yes, graphics are all well and good but I think developers are going overboard with it now. It used to be story first, but now its one of the last things taken into consideration. 3) Fix your interactions. No more "ramrod" NPCS please. 4) Test. Test. Test! 5) Don't hire a laughable number of voice actors, if you're going to make a 'world' don't hire a small number of voice actors that I can count them on my fingers and toes... or just my hands. 6) You've made large worlds, but with the 'whole' world aspects and modern consumers impressed by flashy things you're now going to have to up your game. So, in TES5 I want to be able to travel to other areas such as Morrowind and the likes, if its been in a TES game we should be able to revisit it. You never know, with all the money you save from the 'flashy but utterly unnecessary' graphics division you might be able to afford it. Gone are the days when you need to restrain to one region, development has advanced a lot in the last 10 years, someone just needs to start pulling it all together. You get my point.
Elder Scrolls 5, a possible Fallout mumorpiger, and the next Fallout.
They always have a clue in each of their games what game will come next. I only found the clue once and that was in Morrowind and it was in a really obscure place. So I'm sure if you scour the wasteland you may find out.
They're working on two of them, and they don't have the rights to the middle one, which is being developed by another company. That's practically common knowledge. You don't read much do you?
I'd like them to produce another Cthulu game like they did with Dark Corners of the Earth but alas they canceled those projects.
All I want is a better Thieves Guild. Yeah the last quest for the Thieves Guild felt almost like you were actually a thief. I want a more realistic was of stealing things. Like if I get spotted, it wont be game over, the guards will chase you and how long they chase you will depend directly on the value of the item you stole. Actually I want more quests for the Dark Brotherhood also, it was definitely the most fun thing in the game. I actually felt like an assassin, not a rambo-like character masquerading as an assassin. And for God's sake do more reliable ragdoll physics. I can't tell you how many times I've killed an NPC and they just sit there jiggling in a completely impossible posture indefinitely.
I would rather the next game was on summerset isle, but I suppose its just going to be a better version of fallout 3 with swords.
I also wish Bethesda would part from the medival fantasy setting and insted go for a sort of steampunk setting. Maybe a Cyrodil set in the Future with all the same races, but with both swords and guns. The Archery skill in Oblivion was the most useless skill ever.
Uh, storyline canon? I don't see them fitting that anywhere. Not many people realize that the Elder Scrolls setting is extremely fleshed out, and the people saying "make TES5 steampunk/ancient roman!!1!" are ignorant. You (matrix) seem somewhat knowledgeable, so I'm not digging at you here. And I disagree with the archery skill being useless...find a good bow and you can deal serious damage, especially with sneak attacks. One-shotting becomes surprisingly frequent at higher levels. Back to the OP, TES 5 has probably been in production since before Oblivion was released. However, it's unlikely that they'll release it anytime soon...Morrowind was 2000, and Oblivion was 2006. Somebody posted above that 2010 is a possibility, which I'm willing to believe. Bethesda doesn't crank out sequels every year like some developers.

Now who here would like them to make fallout 4? They desighned Oblivion and Fallout 3 greatly. If would like put what you would like them to make. Make a list if you want.
