Oh and if you have a copy of Einhander, then I'll be your BFF cause that game is impossible to find and I've only played the demo. I would say that Psychonauts and BG&E really don't count as hidden gems anymore. They more fall under the "Games that artsy-fartsy people won't shut the hell up about" category. SotC and Mischief Makers should be in that column too. Of course with the advent of the internet there's really not that much that's hidden anymore. |

I've only met one other person that has played it except me and the person that made me play it. I personally like it because of the story and the characters, there all well defined and the story just rocks because its so epic, and its not one of those silly "there's a person trying to destroy the world, kill him/her". It's a personal thing for the main characters. Also though this was my first JRPG coshing it to have nostalgia effect on me I still claim that the battle system is real fun because of the dragon gems and weretigers. |

The reason no one played BoF3 is because it came out around when FFVII was released. So it wasn't ignored, it was overshadowed. Funnily enough, other games seemed to benefit from FFVII's influence, most notably Wild ARMs and Xenogears. But I guess BoF3 didn't stand out enough. |

Michael Jacksons Moonwalker(Sega) I was like...6-7 when I played this and I thought MJ was a political figure or something absurd I never passed level one but the whole Children plotline and Egoist nature of the game is just worth it |
Pulitzer Laureate Posts: 860 Joined: 15 Dec 2008 | Here's a hidden gem that no one talks about. Chakan: The Forever Man for Sega Genesis. The gameplay was pretty standard as far as platformers of that time go. But the alchemy system was really cool, the music freakin' rocked and the story was dark and creepy. Also it was one of the first games of it's kind to do away with the utterly pointless "lives" system. Sadly, the game did rather poorly. Due in no small part to Sega's utter refusal to advertise it. And a planned sequel on the Saturn was scrapped due to percieved lack of interest or something along those lines. I seriously doubt you'll find a copy anywhere and I'd be really amazed if services like Gametap provided the game because it's not Sonic the Hedgehog or Tomb Raider or some other established bullcrap. I miss that game. |

I remember that Cold Winter had a pretty good physics engine for the time and looked pretty good for a console FPS. |

What, you do know there are still huge fan communities producing updates and talking about it all the time don't you? |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1346 Joined: 22 Aug 2008 | Haze. really, if don't take it 'seriously' like so many people do with FPS games, you'll find it's quite worth the 29.99 they sell it for now. |

I have to disagree with you on 2 accounts here, first one being that the witcher is even remotely obscure with 1 mil+ copies shipped and the second that it's worth the plastic the box is made of. CPR released a "no drm" statement and then promply shipped TWEE with starforce on it. And the fact that they would have made me pay twice because i couldn't register my copy of the original game at their website doesn't improve it a bit. Then came a statement saying that they basicly released the shitty pc port a few years in advance instead of by the time the sequel comes arround and the console version will be better in every single aspect and we have been paying to play a beta for a product we aren't going to see. Those kind of dick moves completely override any merits the game would have had on it's own. Back on topic, Dwarf Fortress(pc). It's freeware too and can be found at www.bay12games.com with the wiki at www.dwarffortresswiki.net Trust me, you'll need the latter alot. And Rise of Nations(pc) |
