Halo 3 because it just is the official x-box game! but brothers in arms: hells highway is great to!

I don't play hearse curtain pewter's much (Yahtzee joke) but I really liked the original Resistance, Halo was good but it was made bad for me listening to all the screaming 5 year olds going on about they can beat the game on Legendary in 9 minutes.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. added with the Oblivion Lost mod. Hands down, THE BEST FPS experience I have ever had.

My personal favourite is Timesplitters: Future Perfect.
Although when I've caught up with this gen that may change.
I also rather like Killzone though, and when i've completed that once again my opinion may change.

i found halo to be rather boring personally, perhaps because i can't use console controls for fps games, they bother me. I really liked alien versus predator 2, its an old game but it was good, wouldn't say it was the best, but really good

I'm going to have to go with Half Li...sorry, I can't finish that sentance with a straight face.

I'm going to have to go with either Alien Trilogy or Turok 2: seeds of evil. My reasons being that a) they were fun and b) they were simple (you can keep your rediculous mute scientists, gates and vague plot lines...I don't want them).

And, not by means of argument or anything else, I just discovered that CoD4 is the number 1 selling FPS of all time. I never knew that.

Does Deus ex count?

For online gameplay it's COD4. Spent a year playing the online purely because it's awesome.
Offline it's Halo: Combat Evolved. I must have ran through this game a million times.

Umm...Either CoD4, Halo3, Half Life 2 or Left 4 Dead.

My first ever FPS was Timesplitters 2, which I thought was amazing.

It's a close call between Fallout 3, Half Life 2 and STALKER: Clear Sky. The latter because if you wanted to enjoy it for what it was, it does more than the tango with you.

There's something a bit fishy about COD4.
