Molydeux Turns Cubist in Curiosity Spoof

Peter Molyneux's Twitter twin asks "what is in the Cube?"

Are you tantalized by the thought of Peter Molyneux's Curiosity? Would you give anything to know what the crazed madman - or inspired genius, as the case may be - is planning? Well, you're in good company, as Molyneux's Twitter twin Molydeux is in the same boat. Unlike most of us, Molydeux can do something about it; he's posted a spoof trailer of Molyneux's upcoming game, claiming that the unimaginable is just inside the cube.

Curiosity is the first of many planned games from Molyneux's new studio, 22Cans (or 22Pans, if this trailer is to be believed). In it, players will be equipped with a chisel and asked to perform one, solitary function: chip away at a large, featureless cube. Players can purchase new chisels that chip away larger potions of the cube, but only the person responsible for final strike will be granted a peek at what was worth all that hassle - what was inside.

"It will expand our minds beyond this world," the spoof claims, "it will make the God particle seem smaller than the atom." Science humor aside, Molydeux doesn't know anything more than the rest of us about Molyneux's sinister scheme for world domination cunningly disguised as a game. Or at least, he probably doesn't. Molyneux is on record as saying he enjoys Molydeux's Tweets, and the two may have met at least once, at indie game fest Molyjam. There's always the chance that Molydeux has access to privileged information, which means the spoof could actually contain some truths.

Or it might just be a joke. Yeah, that's probably it.
