War Z has been pulled from Steam, and here's how to get your money back.

Well it's certainly been an eventful few days for fans of the zombie apocalypse, hasn't it? First, War Z made its triumphant debut on Steam and quickly snapped up not only a boatload of sales, but also a wealth of criticism. Everything from the game's misleading Steam description to a shady microtransaction framework have come under fire from both critics and fans alike. This morning, Steam responded to users' concerns the best way it knew how: by pulling the game from its digital shelves.

So what are disgruntled gamers to do? Request a refund of course! Valve has already stated that it will be issuing refunds for those who "are unhappy with what they received," so if that sounds like you, here's how to make your request:

First, head over to the Steam Support ticket area and either sign in with your Steam Support credentials or create a new account.

Then, when given the choice between support for either a third party game or Steam, choose Steam.

Now click "Contact Support" on the right side of the page. This will create a new ticket in the support system for your issue.

For "Product" pick "Product Not Listed" since War Z no longer will appear on the drop-down menu. For "Category" select "Purchases and Payment" and then choose whatever your payment method happened to be.

Title the ticket something simple, like "Refund request for War Z," and state in the body of the ticket that you are unhappy with the purchase and would like a full refund.

Then click "Submit Question," and you're done!

We imagine there will be a lot of these tickets flying into Valve's inbox over the next 48 hours or so, so keep in mind that it may be a while before you see your credit pop back into your PayPal account or credit card ledger. Also, be sure to check your email spam folder to ensure that updates to the status of your ticket aren't missed.
