Stasis Interrupted, the last piece of Aliens: Colonial Marines DLC, has very quietly arrived on Xbox Live.

Originally hinted at last month, the Aliens: Colonial Marines: Stasis Interrupted DLC tells the tale of what happened to the intrepid (and surprisingly hard to kill) Corporal Dwayne Hicks between Aliens and Alien 3. And if your immediate reaction to that statement is, "He died," well, spoiler alert, I guess. The single-player DLC arrived today on Xbox Live utterly, and under the circumstances perhaps unsurprisingly, without fanfare.

"In this new campaign you play as 3 different characters through an interlocking story. Waking up unexpectedly from hypersleep, Lisbeth and others must figure out why the spaceship they are on, the Legato, has been diverted to intercept the Sulaco leaving LV-426's orbit," according to the Xbox Marketplace blurb. "Fight your way through the alien infested spaceship, find out what Michael Weyland is after and discover what truly happened to Hicks."

Stasis Interrupted will cost 800 Microsoft points or $9.99 when it arrives on PC and the PlayStation Network, and is also part of the Aliens: Colonial Marines "season pass" and thus will come at no extra charge to anyone unfortunate enough to have sprung for it. It will also be the last piece of DLC released for the game, which means we can finally get on with pretending that this whole ugly business never actually happened.
