Capcom Releases I Am Street Fighter Documentary

Got a spare hour or so? Love Street Fighter? Here you are.

Capcom's incredibly successful Street Fighter franchise has inspired many wild stories over the last quarter century, and nobody knows this better than Capcom itself. Capcom has released an hour-long documentary with pretty much everything you'd ever care to know about the series, its history, how it was created, the characters, the sound effects ... anything you ever wanted to know, but were afraid you'd get punched in the face if you asked. Get a drink, sit down, get comfortable. You'll be here a while.

Street Fighter got its start way back in 1987, when you played as Ryu, the young but talented competitor in a martial arts tournament. The series awaits its Street Fighter V, and Yoshinori Ono has said "personally, I don't want to stop Street Fighter's main numbered series at IV," but adding that "realistically speaking, developing a title for next-gen consoles requires a huge amount of staff members, and a large sum of money. The issue of money also applies to everyone else, as it'll be required to invest in a new console, game, and arcade stick."

So who was your favorite fighter? There's 25 years of history here; plenty to choose from.
