Well now, into the basement we go - it's Rome II time.

Today marks the 8th Total War strategy game release, but you won't have to fork over the full $60 list price as you did in March 2011 for Total War: Shogun 2. On the contrary, you can nab Total War: Rome II for $47.99 - a $12 discount on its launch date from the UK-based retailer Green Man Gaming. Be sure you have plenty of disk space, though - Rome II takes up a whopping 35GB to install vs. the 20GB required by Shogun 2.

On August 22nd, the Guild Wars 2 team released the new "Heroic Edition" of GW2 for $49.99. It includes the base game (originally $49.99 by itself) and 3 digital goodies - a set of armor, extra inventory slots, and XP bonuses. However, just like Total War: Rome II, prospective buyers should take a gander at the price drop on Green Man Gaming. Less than two weeks after the Heroic Edition surfaced, GMG has the price down to $36.99 - a solid $13 savings.

Although Diablo 3 has been out for well over a year on PC, today marks the release of the Xbox 360 and PS3 console versions. Conveniently enough, GameStop has a $10 off coupon for in stock games priced $59.99 and up. With D3 in stock, you can drop the price down to $49.99, but you'll have to act fast as the coupon expires today, September 3rd.
