Is 2014 the year when subscription-based MMO's return en masse?

June 3rd is the official launch date for the up and coming MMO WildStar. Last week Thursday, Carbine studios opened up the servers for an open Beta, which will run through this Friday, May 18th.

Open Beta keys can be found on the WIldStar homepage (and if you've already pre-order you'll have immediate access to this beta), for those who find it a worthy MMO after the beta period, pre-ordering gets several decent bonuses and a 20% discount if you know where to buy. Green Man Gaming is running a classic 20% coupon discount which WildStar qualifies for, dropping the price of the Deluxe Edition from $74.99 to $60. The game must be selling well on some level because GMG is already "sold out" of the Standard Edition; however, a similar 20% discount for the Standard is available at GameFly Digital. Both retailers will net you the pre-order bonuses which include a 3-day head start, exclusive rocket house, and plenty of other in-game goodies.

Hindsight is 20/20 for Microsoft. Xbox One has gone Kinect-less and the list price has dropped from $499 to $399 for the model sans-Kinect. Starting June 9th, you'll be able to get an Xbox One Standard console for $399.99. Pre-ordering from the Microsoft Store gets you free shipping and free return (if you decide the Xbone isn't the console for you).

In more PC gaming news, GMG's 20% coupon discount works on two of next week Tuesday's releases: Wolfenstein: The New Order and Tropico 5. In addition to the discounts, both titles carry a significant pre-order bonus. Pre-ordering Wolfenstein: The New Order gets you a free copy of Return to Castle Wolfenstein and a key to the new Doom Beta. Pre-ordering Tropico 5 from GMG will get you a free copy of either Patrician IV or Port Royale 3.

For those looking for even cheaper gaming options, everyone's favorite bundle shop Humble Bundle is offering 14 days of daily bundle. Today they started off with a re-release of the Deep Silver bundle. More details can be found here.
