I was a grognard, once....

| 11 Dec 2005 15:30

If you read Allen Varney's article Les Grognards and thought to yourself "Hot damn! I'd really like to play an old school game like that! Fun is irrelevant, simulation is king!" then boy do I have the game for you. It's called Modern Spearhead, and it was designed by none other than Yours Truly at the ripe old age of 25, fresh from completing my military history BA.

Modern Spearhead is for those who know their Airland Battle from their Operational Maneuver Group, their Leopoard II from their Merkava. To truly appreciate Modern Spearhead, you'll need an army of hundreds of 6mm pewter tanks and guns and a table no less than 6' x 8' with terrain to suit. Oh, and a copy of the rules.
