EA Aquires Phenomic

Electronic Arts has purchased Phenomic, the makers of the Spellforce and Settlers series of RTS games.

Not long after buying Mythic Entertainment, EA has now moved to purchase Phenomic, the makers of the recent Spellforce 2 fantasy RTS title. Based in Germany, Phenomic will be EA's largest studio in Europe and their focus will be on RTS games for both the PC and consoles.

"We've always been passionate about creating games with a focus on quality, innovation and fun, and EA has the same philosophy for game making. Being part of EA will help us turn our vision for future games into reality," said Boris Kunkel, Managing Director of Phenomic.

Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
