Getaway Developer Signs Publishing Deal with Rockstar

| 27 Sep 2006 15:42

Team Bondi, the group behind Sony's The Getaway, has signed with Rockstar Games to publish the upcoming LA Noire.

Team Bondi, which is primarily made up of ex-Getaway developers, has only recently settled down in Australia after leaving Sony Europe. Founder and Getaway creator Brendan McNamara wasted no time in getting a publisher for their upcoming crime drama. "Brendan and I have known each other for a long time," said Rockstar founder Sam Houser. "To finally have the opportunity to work together on a game is exciting."

Team Bondi had previously been thought to have an exclusive publishing deal with Sony. Though LA Noire is currently only announced for the Playstation 3, the switch to a multiplatform publisher has raised questions as to whether the game might also be announced for other platforms.

LA Noire is being billed as an interactive crime drama centering around a noir-themed detective story. No release date has been announced.
