Nintendo to have Two Launch Events

Nintendo plans for Wii launch parties in Los Angeles and Manhattan.

Nintendo announced that the company would be hosting two Wii launch parties in the United States on November 19th. The midnight parties will be located at Toys "R" Us in Times Square in Manhattan and the GameStop at Universal CityWalk in Los Angeles, California. Included activies will be live entertainment, game kiosks, and Nintendo executives. Pre-orders for the system at Gamestop have already been sold out, but general retail stores will still be selling the system off the shelf on launch day.

Nintendo of America's Senior Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Communications George Harrison added: "Who'll be the first person to line up? Will it be a Zelda fan in New York or a soccer mom in Los Angeles? We're going to make sure these events help everyone feed off one another's energy and enthusiasm."
