Gears of War Tops Halo 2

Halo 2 has been knocked off the Xbox Live most played list for the first time since the Xbox 360 launched. Gears of War has taken number one spot.

Gears of War appears to be living up to Microsoft's expectations as it unseats Halo 2 as the most popular game on Xbox Live. Major Nelson has updated his blog with the latest list which also shows Contra as the most downloaded Xbox Live Arcade title.

Other popular games for the Xbox 360 include Call of Duty 3, Call of Duty 2, the Rainbow Six Vegas demo and Splinter Cell Double Agent.
