Age of Conan Confirmed For Xbox 360

| 13 Dec 2006 13:57

Funcom has announced that Age of Conan, an upcoming MMORPG for the PC, is on the way to the Xbox 360.

With the closed beta for the PC version well under way, Funcom has confirmed that an Xbox 360 version of the game is in the works. "This is a groundbreaking leap forward for Funcom. The fact that we now get the chance to develop Age of Conan for the Xbox 360 means access to a potentially whole new and large MMO market," said Trond Arne Aas, CEO of Funcom. "The fast-paced and innovative combat system in Age of Conan will suit the demanding console audience perfectly."

This announcement should come as no surprise to anyone who has been following the game. Funcom has made numerous statements regarding their intentions to make a console version in past interviews, indicating that Xbox 360 development may be further along than anyone might suspect.

The PC version of the game is currently slated for Q2, 2007. A "Games For Windows" showcase title, Age of Conan is one of the most violent, mature MMORPG's in development today.
