Citan Sneaks in an Afternoon July Update

<DIV>Here is a new envisioning of the Sage. Note that this version does not have a group vigor heal. The new Sage is a combat-time buffer as well as a healer and vigor healer. The Sage can also put up a pretty good offense on their own or in groups.</DIV>
<DIV>This new tree introduces the concept of a power tap. Many of the skills require the Sage to tap a victim's essence to power them. (The Sage can tap himself instead, if he so chooses.) After the Sage has tapped into a power source, they can use the following skills: Wither Form, Honed Precision, Honed Defenses, Fester, Restore Life, and Restore Will. The Sage can use as many of these attacks as he wants for 10 to 20 seconds, at which time he needs to re-tap. (The exception is Wither Form, which immediately terminates the tap.) The icons will have a border that helps differentiate tapped skills from untapped ones.</DIV>

<DIV>The following skills can only be used with a staff in hand: Tap Essence, Heartrend, Fester, Hypnosis, Wither Form.</DIV>

<DIV>Skill Info:</DIV>
Force of Will: self-only vigor-over-time spell which grants the Sage 5 (L1) to 12 (L50) vigor each second. This spell lasts 5 minutes (L1) to 30 minutes (L50) with a 1 second reset timer (in other words, the Sage can always have it on).

<DIV>Tap Essence: A small attack that does 3 (L1) to 75 (L50) bonus damage. If the Sage successfully hits the target, she gains access to the tap-restricted skills for 10 secs (L1) to 20 secs (L50). Vigor cost 50. Reset time 1 sec.</DIV>
<DIV>Tap Self: harms the caster for 50% (L1) to 25% (L50) of his maximum health. This grants the Sage access to the tap-restricted skills for 10 secs (L1) to 20 secs (L50). Vigor cost 50. Reset time 1 sec.</DIV>
<DIV>Wither Form: this skill can only be used while the Sage is under the influence of Tap Self or Tap Essence. This is a LoS attack with a 40m range. It does 7 (L1) to 200 (L50) bonus damage; 20% of the damage ignores armor. Using this skill prematurely terminates the tap effect: after using this skill the Sage will no longer be under the influence of Tap Essence or Tap Self. Vigor cost 80. Reset time 7 secs.</DIV>
<DIV>Restore Will: this skill can only be used while the Sage is under the influence of Tap Self or Tap Essence. This skill can not be used on the Sage, only on other people. It restores 300 (L1) to 600 (L50) vigor to the target. Vigor cost 110. Reset time 5 secs.</DIV>
<DIV>Restore Life: this skill can only be used while the Sage is under the influence of Tap Self or Tap Essence. (This skill CAN be used on the Sage himself, or on other people.) It restores 50 (L1) to 500 (L50) health to the target. Vigor cost 110. Reset time 5 secs.</DIV>
<DIV>Honed Precision: this skill can only be used while the Sage is under the influence of Tap Self or Tap Essence. (This skill CAN be used on the Sage himself, or on other people.) For 30 seconds the target is 10% more likely to critical-hit. Vigor cost 110. Reset time 120 secs.</DIV>
<DIV>Heartrend: a 40m line-of-sight attack that does 12 (L1) to 260 (L50) damage to a target. It does not require the influence of Tap Self or Tap Essence. Vigor cost 300. Reset time 10 secs.</DIV>
<DIV>Personal Savior: this skill grants 100 (L1) to 800 (L50) health and 100 (L1) to 600 (L50) vigor to a single target. Does not require the influence of Tap Self or Tap Essence. Vigor cost 1. Reset time 600 secs.</DIV>
<DIV>Recurrent Ministrations: grants health over time to all fellowship members nearby. Grants 2 (L1) to 20 (L50) health per second for 120 seconds. Does not require the influence of Tap Self or Tap Essence. Vigor cost 1. Reset time 300 secs.</DIV>
<DIV>Honed Defenses: this skill can only be used while the Sage is under the influence of Tap Self or Tap Essence. (This skill CAN be used on the Sage himself, or on other people.) For 30 seconds the target gains 10 (L1) to 100 (L50) armor. This armor stacks with Encase/Shield Wall. Vigor cost 110. Reset time 120 secs.</DIV>
<DIV>Fester: this skill can only be used while the Sage is under the influence of Tap Self or Tap Essence. The target is unable to regenerate health either in or out of combat for 90 seconds. During this time the target loses 4 (L1) to 8 (L50) health per second. Vigor cost 200. Reset time 7 secs.</DIV>
<DIV>Hypnosis: mesmerizes the target creature, putting it to sleep until attacked or the effect expires. Does not require the influence of Tap Self or Tap Essence.  Lasts for 5 (L1) to 30 (L50) seconds. Vigor cost 300. Reset time 5 secs.</DIV>
<DIV>Saving Graces: restores 35 (L1) to 350 (L50) health to everyone in the fellowship in the area. Does not require the influence of Tap Self or Tap Essence. Vigor cost 300. Reset time 7 secs.</DIV>
<DIV>Ease Memories: restores vitae to the target. Does not require the influence of Tap Self or Tap Essence. Vigor cost 650. Reset time 10 secs. (This skill is completely unchanged.)</DIV>
<DIV>
<DIV>This class should prove sufficiently powerful and distinctive. We are a little concerned that the tapping dynamic may be too cumbersome, but we can't tell until we implement it and test it out.</DIV>
<DIV>We realize this is a complete re-envisioning of the Sage, and it will require some time to get used to. We welcome your feedback on this plan.</DIV></DIV>
