New Shipments and Big Push for Video Games on Sunday

| 16 Dec 2006 00:03

This Sunday marks the "last big push" for retail video game and console sales before the holidays.

Yahoo! Finance reports that new PlayStation 3 units should be available on Sunday, but that sales of the PlayStation 2 and the Xbox 360 will be the major focus for retailers.

Current data collected by American Technology Research shows that the Xbox 360 will reach its forecast of 10 million units sold by the end of the year, and that the PS3 will move between 800,000 and 900,000 units by the same date.

In contrast, Nintendo's Wii is set to sell between 1.3 million and 1.5 million units.
