IGN Online Worlds Roundtable #5
IGN's RPG Vault has updated their Online Worlds Roundtable series with episode #5. This one asks, just what is "immersive" gaming, and how does a persistent world go about achieving it? Four developers of current and future MMOG's speak their minds on the subject, including Bill Trost of the Everquest II team, who said:
"I think the most immersive game ever has to be Tetris, where, literally, your world becomes falling shapes. The key is being consistent. Whatever the "world" is that you have defined for your game, stick with it, and play by the rules you have established. A circle would feel alien in the quadromino world of Tetris."
