Developer Traveller's Tales purchases Embryonic Studios.

Representatives from British developer Traveller's Tales, developers of the hit Lego Star Wars, have confirmed that they have acquired Embryonic Studios for an undisclosed sum. In April 2005, Traveller's Tales also bought Giant Entertainment, who had rights to the Lego license, and formed the TT Games Group.

Embryonic Studios was formed in 2005 by Nick Elms of Digital Anvil and employs 20 developers in northwest England. The company has had small successes with licensed games like Harry Potter and The Sorceror's Stone and Star Trek: Invasion.

Traveller's Tales founder Jon Burton added: "We are delighted to have completed the acquisition. Embryonic possess a very talented workforce that will help drive Traveller's Tales on to further success."
