| 2 Feb 2007 14:00

Blizzard and The9 sign publishing deal to enter China.

Blizzard announced that they've inked a deal with The9, a Chinese online game publisher, to maintain World of Warcraft in China. Burning Crusade, the newly released expansion pack, is currently being translated to be released in China alongside the full game. The9 will be responsible for community management, technical support, in-game customer service, game card distribution and server hosting.

President of Blizzard Entertainment Mike Morhaime commented on the company's expansion into China. "We're fully committed to ensuring that the ongoing operation of World of Warcraft in mainland China will provide an excellent experience for players there for many years to come. We look forward to extending that commitment with this expansion as well as with future Blizzard releases."
