Webzen Licenses Huxley to The9

| 14 Feb 2007 14:35

Webzen licenses its new massively-multiplayer game to The9 for Chinese distribution.

Korean developer Webzen announced that it has licensed it's new massively-multiplayer online shooter Huxley to Chinese publisher The9 for $35 million. The9 has the rights to publish, distribute, operate and sell Huxley throughout China. This is the third deal between Webzen and The9, following the closed beta testing of MU and Soul of the Ultimate Nation, two Webzen MMOs that The9 is handling in China. No date for the game's Chinese launch has been set, but Huxley will be released in Korea later this year.

Webzen CEO Nam Ju Kim commented on the deal: "With this first deal in China, we are confident that we will continue to have additional Huxley contracts in other territories around the world. We expect that Huxley will emerge as a flagship title for WEBZEN, based on its high anticipation in Korea, China, the U.S. and other key markets."
