Vivendi Acquires Wanako Games

Vivendi announced the acquisition of Chile-based Wanako Games today, which is the largest game development studio in Latin America.

Vivendi has committed to strengthening the internal development capabilities of its Sierra Online division in the wake of the popularity of downloadable console games. Sierra Online will help bring some of Wanako's creative concepts to fruition and will retain Wanako's development team.

Sierra Online and Wanako Games worked together in 2006 to create the award-winning Assault Heroes for Xbox Live Arcade, and they will continue to work together to develop upcoming Xbox Live Arcade game 3-D Ultra Minigolf Adventures.
