Eidos Interactive acquires Rockpool Games

| 26 Feb 2007 20:35

Eidos continues to acquire mobile games providers with its acquisition of U.K.-based Rockpool Games.

The deal includes Rockpool's two sister companies, IronStone Partners and SoGoPlay. All three companies will become central parts of Eidos New Media, the branch of Eidos Interactive slated to move in on the mobile market.

We believe that the global market for mobile games is set to grow considerably over the next few years," says Chief Executive Jane Cavanagh in a press release, "and that casual games are also becoming increasingly important."

Rockpool's acquisition, for an undisclosed amount, will provide Eidos with in-house development for the mobile market.
