Wake Tech Opens New Game Development Lab

| 27 Feb 2007 17:04

Wake Technical Community College unveiled it's brand new Simulation and Game Develoment Lab at its Raleigh, NC campus, which is the most advanced facility of it's kind in the Carolinas.

Dr. Stephen Scott, President of Wake Tech said the new facility demonstrated the school's commitment to training students to meet the demands of the high tech industry.

The opening of this computer lab is the cornerstone of the newly created Simulation and Game Design Associate's program at Wake Tech; the school received a generous grant from the National Science Foundation to make it possible.

The new facility is stocked with 25 fully-loaded Alienware computers, a greatly respected brand in the gaming community. Eighty-four students are currently enrolled in Wake Tech's new program, and this fall, Wake Tech will allow high school students aged 16 and up to take classes, tuition-free.
