Wii is Still No. 1 in the U.S.

| 16 Mar 2007 17:28

According to an independent report on sales data by the NPD group, Nintendo's Wii was the best selling videogame console in the U.S. again in February, after moving over 335,000 units. The only game system that sold more was the Nintendo DS, at 485,000 units.

Together, Nintendo systems represented 54 percent of all hardware sales in February.

Reggie Fils-Aime, President of Nintendo of America, was gratified that "the explosive appeal of Wii, in terms of both new players and ways to play, has created unprecedented demand, substantially beyond supply."
