New Reduced Price Point for PSP

Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) announced today a reduced price for PSP hardware. Today, the PSP Core Pack will be available in the US for $169.99. In addition, SCEA announced it will be adding Daxter and Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror to the Greatest Hits Collection.

Jack Tretton, President and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment America, said, "We are pleased that we are able to engineer savings for the consumer at the stage of PSP's lifecycle, allowing more individuals to experience PSP for the first time."

SCEA has sold more that 25 million PSP units worldwide. The PSP is poised for further growth this year with scheduled software releases from major franchises that include Ratchet and Clank, God of War, SOCOM: US Navy Seals, and Syphon Filter.
