Pokémon Preorders Top 500,000

Preorders for Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl for the Nintendo DS have topped a half million in the United States, and Nintendo expects these two titles to be among the top selling games for all of 2007.

More than 533,000 preorders have been taken for Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl which is more than double the preorder numbers of Pokémon FireRed and Pokémon LeafGreen which launched three years ago. Those games went on to sell over 3.4 million copies in North America.

Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl will offer 100 new characters, the ability for people to battle wirelessly across the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, and give friends the opportunity to voice chat. These two extremely popular titles will debut on April 22, 2007.
