STALKER Theft Rumour Unfounded

| 20 Apr 2007 22:13

Rumors circulating earlier this month about possible theft of art assets by Stalker's developers have proven unfounded, The Inquirer has reported.

Speculation was abound that basic lighting and water textures may have been stolen from Doom 3 and Half-life 2. It was fueled by visual similarities and the name of one texture, "lights_impflash.dds," resembling the name of an "imp" monster creature in Doom 3.

In reality, however, the textures are simply stock assets sold by this company and the texture name referred to impact lighting.
