Square Enix Shuffles Executives

Square Enix raises John Yamamoto to Chief Executive Officer and President of Square Enix in North America.

Daishiro Okado has been named the Vice Chairman of Square Enix in America, after having served as President and Chief Operating Officer. John Yamamoto will be promoted to Okado's position as President and will also take the title of Chief Executive Officer in the United States. Okado keeps his duties as president and Chief Executive Officer of Square Enix Europe and executive officer worldwide.

Yoichi Wada, President and representative director of the board of Square Enix, commented on Yamamoto's promotion. "We are excited that John will be joining our senior leadership in North America, and we will benefit immensely from his experience. John's proven track record as a senior executive and his strong understanding of our industry make him an ideal candidate to help lead our North American initiatives."
