Blizzard Announcement to be StarCraft-Centric?

| 16 May 2007 18:40

A bit of internet sleuthing by a major gaming website indicates - though not decisively - that Blizzard's big weekend announcement may be a sequel to StarCraft.

Engaging in a bit of reasoned speculation, the popular online gaming venue Gamespot ventured to say that Blizzard Entertainment's anxiously-awaited weekend announcement will likely be a sequel to the hit real-time strategy title, StarCraft.

The news source noted that a countdown timer running on Blizzard's main website is duplicated on another site, Starcraft2.com, which is registered to the company, according to a WHOIS search.

The site further noted, "A search of other potential game titles doesn't turn up any more sites officially registered to Blizzard. Diablo3.com and Worldofstarcraft.com are fan pages, and Starcraftmmo.com and Warcraft4.com are both owned by cybersquatters."
