Capcom Dissolves Flagship Label

| 21 May 2007 14:00

Capcom ends the Flagship game label, but saves the employees.

Months after closing Clover Studio, Capcom revealed that it will no longer be utilizing its "Flagship" brand as of June 1. The development team behind the label was previously responsible for Capcom's handheld Legend of Zelda iterations, including The Minish Cap, A Link to the Past, Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages, as well as a couple Kirby titles for the Nintendo DS.

Beyond creating its own games, Flagship's main role has been storytelling and dialog writing for other Capcom studios. Despite ceasing to use the name, employees working under the Flagship banner will continue working in similar positions within Capcom and will be integrated into other parts of the publisher.
