Blizzard has announced that it is suing Peons4hire, a gold-seller notorious for its heavy in-game spamming.

In a post on the official World of Warcraft forums, a Blizzard representative has said that the company has filed a federal lawsuit against the operators of Peons4hire. As part of that lawsuit, Peons4hire has been asked to immediately halt all in-game spamming by any entities under its control. According to the post, if the company refuses to respond accordingly, further legal action will be taken.

The lawsuit is part of Blizzard's increased efforts to combat in-game gold spamming. The latest World of Warcraft patch contains new features designed to combat advertising abuse, and has made it easier for players to report and block spammers. Referring to his company's ongoing battle against disruptive elements, the Blizzard rep says, "Our efforts to reduce in-game abuse and create a fun, safe environment for everyone are never-ending."
