The Allacrost Project has become one of the oldest ongoing open source game projects Sunday, and to celebrate they're giving us a gift.

A second demo for Hero of Allacrost, a sprite-based 2-D RPG, is now available for download. Substantial improvements have been made over the previous demo released just last October. Movement is no longer tiled-based, random encounters are a thing of the past, shops have been enabled and the experience system is now in place. Additionally, there are two new maps to explore and lots of new music to experience.

Stop by the Allacrost website to learn more about the game and get instructions for installing the Debian package, or head directly to their SourceForge page and download the source code and Windows and OS X clients.
