Microsoft Co-sponsors Global Warming Game Contest

| 12 Jun 2007 18:10

Help save the world, make a cool videogame, win cash and score a Microsoft internship, all at once.

Microsoft's Xbox division and Gamescoreblog.com are co-hosting a game design contest in concert with Gamesforchange.org, in which college students are invited to come up with a socially-conscious videogame centered on the theme of global warming.

The competition will be on a worldwide scale and will launch in August. Participants will use Microsoft's XNA coding framework to craft their prototype titles.

Three cash prizes will be awarded and the top three entries may be included in Microsoft's online game distribution service. The first place team or person will also be awarded an internship at Microsoft's entertainment division.

More contest details can be found here.
