Halo animated series Red vs Blue steps out of retirement to promote the upcoming Halo 3 release.

Despite the conclusion of The Blood Gulch Chronicles, a new, five episode mini-series of Red vs Blue episodes will air on the websites of participating retailers starting on Tuesday, July 31. In preparation for the launch of Halo 3, GameStop, Wal-Mart, Amazon, Best Buy and Circuit City will all be playing the new machinima shows as they release.

Red vs Blue is a popular machina web show developed with the Halo and Halo 2 game engines that spans over five seasons and over one hundred episodes and featurettes. The show's creators have branched out, expanding their talent to produce 1-800-MAGIC based on Shadowrun and The Strangerhood with The Sims. Although the main storyline is over, the characters and intellectual property were left open for marketing occasions such as this.
