GigaMedia Appoints Hui as President and COO

GigaMedia's Chief Financial Officer is promoted to higher managerial positions.

GigaMedia Limited, a Taiwanese provider of online entertainment and game software, announced the appointment of Chief Financial Officer Thomas Hui to the newly created positions of President and Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Hui, who has spent three years with GigaMedia since leaving financial institution Goldman Sachs, will continue in his role as CFO until a replacement is selected.

Chief Executive Officer Arthur Wang said, "Thomas is a multi-talented leader who has been instrumental in the transformation and growth of GigaMedia. As President, we are confident Thomas will drive even greater growth in our online entertainment businesses. The President and COO positions are newly created, strengthening the senior management at GigaMedia, enabling us to further exploit the enormous market opportunities before us."
