Atlus has announced Baroque, a new action-RPG for the PlayStation 2 and Nintendo Wii, scheduled for release in February 2008.

Originally developed for the PlayStation and Sega Saturn in 1998, the new release of Baroque finds the player awakening in a world devastated by the Blaze, a great cataclysm that decimated the planet and distorted reality itself. Humanity now survives by clinging to "Baroques," twisted fantasies that distort not only the mind but the body as well.

The player must battle his way through the forbidding Neuro Tower, a constantly-changing structure packed with twisted Meta-Beings, in order to cleanse a mysterious sin and heal the world. The game features numerous enemies and items, dark secrets and a unique story progression system in which death itself drives the story forward. Baroque is also highly customizable, giving the player full control over the character, play styles, statistics and more.

Baroque is rated T (Teen) by the ESRB, and will be available for preorder beginning January 4, 2008. More information is available at the Baroque website.
