PopCap Games is making a major push into the Southeast Asia market, signing a deal with Acme Mobile that will make its games available to over 250 million mobile subscribers in the region.

The casual gaming giant will utilize Acme's online and mobile presence to bring its catalog of games to customers in Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam. According to a GamesIndustry report, Chuzzle and Bookworm will be the first two titles released under the terms of the deal.

James Gwertzman, vice president of PopCap's Asia-Pacific operations, said, "Acme Mobile's unique combination of its Amob.com direct consumer channels, carrier connections and regional marketing expertise make them a perfect partner for PopCap. We decided to enter Southeast Asia in a big way, with a strong partner who could quickly help us build our mobile brand, and we found that partner in Acme Mobile."

PopCap's Director of Asia-Pacific Business Development Giordano Contestabile praised Acme Mobile's for the speed in which PopCap was able to get its games, advertising campaigns and promotions rolled out over numerous individual channels, and said, "We look forward to working with Acme to help make PopCap's titles the best-selling casual mobile games in Southeast Asia."
