PopCap Preps New Hits PlayStation 2 Title

PopCap is back with another "best of" title for the Sony PlayStation 2.

The casual video games developer has announced PopCap Hits Volume 2. This compilation of games otherwise downloadable for other platforms will be available at retail in June.

The title will contain the hit PopCap games Heavy Weapon and Zuma. In Heavy Weapon players engage in a side-scrolling action game as they fight enemy armies, collect power-ups and enjoy multiplayer action. Zuma, meanwhile, is an action-puzzler where games "rotate the stone frog at the center of the screen to shoot colored balls into place" so they can make sets of three or more.

"We're pleased to be bringing our second PlayStation2 'greatest hits' compilation to stores so quickly after the first volume, and expect the upcoming product to be even more popular with consumers," said Greg Canessa, VP of Video Game Platforms at PopCap. "Heavy Weapon and Zuma are two of our most successful games on the Xbox LIVE Arcade Service, and should prove equally well received by the PlayStation 2 audience."
