Rumor: Kojima Working On Castlevania Sequel Lords of Shadow

Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima seems to be involved in the creation of a Castlevania sequel dubbed Lords of Shadow, if a recent rumor is to be believed.

Developed by Mercury Steam, a company best known for Clive Barker's Jericho, Lords of Shadow has yet to be officially confirmed as a Castlevania follow up, but given the backing of Konami, and the game's undeniable gothic undertones and inclusion of a whip have many nodding their heads and stroking goatees knowingly.

Additionally, Kojima's direct involvement is, for the moment, only rumored, though many Castlevania fans would undoubtedly love to see the maestro of stealth action take a crack at the oft-horrid 3-D versions of the long-running vampirophobic series.

Lords of Shadow is currently scheduled to debut on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 sometime during 2010.
