Lego Star Wars Chess Set is Amazing

How'd you like a fan-made Star Wars chess set built entirely out of Lego? Step this way...

Nerd projects are a little like cocktails; take a shot of Chess, a dash of Star Wars and pour liberally over Lego. The resulting beverage - in this case a custom Lego Star Wars chess set based on the first movie - is a testament to the dedication and artistry of our 'people' and this is no exception.

The entire thing is made of Lego, even the decoration on the board, and has some amazing little touch like the the Y-Wing Figher Knight or Greedo as a Rook. The board is the work of Brandon Griffith, who wanted to make a chess set that was durable to play the game on and depicted scenes from the movie. I'd say that he's done a pretty good job and if you check out his flickr photostream, I'm sure you'll agree.

I mean, come on, it's Star Wars and Chess and Lego! What more could you want?
