Dragon Age II is a high fantasy game set in Kirkwall, a nation of Thedas adjacent to the nation in Dragon Age: Origins. Players take the role of Hawke and may play one of three classes. The nonlinear story is built on players' choices, but generally follows Hawke's journey from a refugee of Ferelden to the "Champion of Kirkwall." A new dialogue wheel shows the tone of conversation options and the combat system was simplified from Dragon Age: Origins. Dragon Age II was the first game in the series to feature a fully-voiced player character.
